About the role
The Commercial Manager will provide direct commercial support and insight to finance, customer, principal and internal teams. This role is central to developing commercial engagement, enhancing profitability and supporting strategic decision‑making within a temperature‑controlled supply chain and logistics business.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in formulating and implementing the national commercial strategy with a 2‑to‑5‑year outlook.
- Calculate and provide accurate pricing for annual negotiations and manage contract pricing adjustments.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, identify rate reduction and efficiency opportunities, and ensure profitability targets are met.
- Drive commercial conversations, answer queries from customers and principals, and keep finance informed of correct pricing.
- Draft, negotiate and monitor contracts and service level agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and renewal schedules.
- Compile and review budgeting and sales forecasting data, analyse revenue drivers and produce monthly performance reports.
Required profile
- Proven experience in commercial support, pricing and contract management within a supply chain or logistics environment.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret financial data and translate insights into profitable actions.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with customers, principals and internal finance teams.
