Clinical Facilitator – Navigator: Care Expert

About the role

The Clinical Facilitator – Navigator: Care Expert plans and delivers training and development interventions to ensure nursing staff competency. The role may be assigned to a specialist unit such as ICU or operate across all nursing units within the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the competence of all nursing staff.
• Ensure correct application of nursing procedures and policies.
• Identify training needs and design appropriate clinical training interventions.
• Promote a culture of continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Professional Nurse qualification.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education, or three years’ mentor experience together with a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing for specialist units.
• Certificate of competence in Generic Assessment (Assessor course) when required.
• Minimum three years of professional nursing experience in a hospital.
• At least one year of mentor experience.

Required skills

• Continuous improvement methodologies.
• Facilitation and assessment skills.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and infection prevention and control.
• Computer literacy with the MS Office package.
• Understanding of nursing processes, procedures and clinical risk management.
