Cleaner – Full-time Position

About the role

The Department of Public Works and Roads is seeking a reliable Cleaner to maintain a clean and safe environment across offices, corridors, kitchens, restrooms, garages and boardrooms. This full‑time position is open to current or former beneficiaries with disabilities in the Mahikeng district.

Key responsibilities

• Clean offices, corridors, kitchens, restrooms, garages and boardrooms on a daily basis.
• Maintain and operate cleaning machines and equipment, reporting any shortages.
• Collect and dispose of waste twice daily, ensuring proper segregation.
• Prepare boardrooms before meetings and provide refreshments when required.
• Rotate between assigned areas as directed by the supervisor.
• Use cleaning materials correctly and keep inventory records up to date.

Required profile

• Minimum education: ABET/Grade 10.
• No prior experience required; candidates with 0‑1 year experience are welcome.
• Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and cleaning products, materials and equipment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Punctuality, reliability and a customer‑focused attitude.
