Civil QC Inspector – Renewable Energy Project

About the role

Kwena Human Capital is seeking an experienced Civil QC Inspector to join the Redstone PV + BESS project, a 19 MWp solar PV plant with a 30 MWh battery storage system in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. The role is full‑time, site‑based and involves ensuring civil works meet quality, safety and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support the project team in delivering works according to the approved programme, specifications and quality standards.
• Review civil drawings, specifications and technical documentation, and resolve technical queries.
• Supervise and coordinate civil site activities, manage subcontractor work fronts and ensure material availability.
• Conduct inspections to verify compliance with drawings, ITPs and quality requirements, and support punch‑list and close‑out activities.
• Participate in HSE processes, risk assessments, toolbox talks and exercise stop‑work authority when needed.

Required profile

• National Diploma/N6/NQF Level 6 in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of civil construction quality control and inspection experience on large‑scale or renewable‑energy projects.
• Proven experience with ITPs, inspection requests, NCRs and corrective‑action processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality principles and South African HSE legislation.

Required skills

• Reviewing civil drawings and specifications.
• Managing ITPs, inspection requests and NCRs.
• Conducting inspections of earthworks, piling, foundations and concrete works.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management.
