About the role
The Limpopo Department of Education seeks a Chief Network Controller to oversee all network and communication systems across the Waterberg District. This senior position ensures reliable connectivity, security, and data recovery for all departmental sites.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate network and communication system operations, monitoring performance and security with advanced tools.
- Maintain reliable LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi connectivity across all departmental sites.
- Oversee backup, data recovery, and related recovery procedures.
- Maintain ICT documentation and ensure compliance with ITC security standards and data‑protection policies.
Required profile
- NQF Level 6 qualification recognized by SAQA; qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Telecommunication or Electronic Engineering are advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in IT, computer sciences or a related field.
- Valid driver’s licence (except for people with disabilities).
Required skills
- Network design, network security and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, OSPF and BGP.
- LAN/WAN technologies.
- Backup and data‑recovery procedures.
- Understanding of ITC security standards and data‑protection policies.
