Chief Growth & Strategy Officer

About the role

KFC Africa is looking for a Chief Growth & Strategy Officer to develop and own its growth strategy, aiming to deliver Net New Unit growth, revenue and profit targets. The role covers asset growth, optimisation, mergers and acquisitions, new market entry and business development, and reports to the General Manager, KFC Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the asset growth strategy and the detailed asset optimisation strategy.
• Develop and lead the Mergers and Acquisitions strategy, and source new partnership opportunities.
• Direct strategy for new market entry and direct and co-ordinate business development, recommending new restaurants, site opportunities, concepts and enhancements.
• Direct and approve all capital investment and expenditure proposals, and chair the Investment Committee.
• Act as the main interface with Dallas Development to align major development strategies and plans.
• Plan changes in staffing and reporting relationships with the Human Resources Department, and lead, motivate and develop subordinates.
• Support the Rest of Sub-Saharan Africa General Manager in achieving RoSSA Net New Unit growth targets.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in a business discipline, with a CA(SA) preferred; post-graduate (MBA) qualification preferred.
• At least 15 years of overall business experience in management consulting, investment banking and Mergers and Acquisitions, preferably in retail growth and expansion.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
• Candidates with international mobility are preferred; high work ethic and integrity are essential.
