Chief Forensic Accountant – National Prosecuting Authority

About the role

The National Prosecuting Authority seeks a senior professional to lead and manage complex financial investigations. The Chief Forensic Accountant will oversee investigation and prosecution plans, supervise forensic accountants and ensure the integrity of financial data used in prosecutions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of investigation and prosecution plans for financial investigations.
• Provide guidance to and supervise forensic accountants, leading complex financial investigations.
• Manage teams, coordinate quality investigations and ensure accuracy of analysed financial data.
• Maintain internal and external stakeholder relations and drive the development of new technologies and methodologies.

Required profile

• Relevant B-degree (NQF level 7) in Accounting or Forensic Accounting.
• At least ten years post‑qualification experience, with five years in middle/senior managerial roles within legal, investigative or financial crime environments.
• Experience in public‑sector investigations, litigation support and expert witness testimony.
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem‑solving abilities, with high ethical standards and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel nationally.
