About the role
The Chief Civil Engineer will support and participate in functional planning processes related to engineering priorities for a defined area, and will manage the development and presentation of technical designs for complex engineering works.
Key responsibilities
- Provide support and participate in functional planning processes associated with engineering priorities and requirements.
- Manage the development and presentation of technical designs for complex engineering works.
- Disseminate information on structural design concepts and produce reports on interventions and outcomes.
- Advise on principles, procedures and applications for complex engineering projects and programmes.
- Oversee preparation and collation of contract documentation and evaluate tender applications for complex works.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of relevant post‑registration experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa and a valid driver’s licence (Code B or EB).
