Chef de Partie

About the role

As a Chef de Partie at Auria Senior Living in Johannesburg, you will support the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in delivering high‑quality meals in a fast‑paced kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting food to the highest standards while ensuring resident satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily food preparation tasks assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chefs in a timely manner.
• Estimate production needs, monitor raw and cooked food quality, and ensure compliance with menu recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation and proper storage, including temperature control and expiry date checks.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other departments to foster a collaborative work environment.
• Train and motivate junior staff, providing daily feedback and guidance.
• Collect resident feedback, assess quality control, and adhere to Auria service standards.
• Perform any additional duties required by management.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education; tertiary culinary qualification is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in pastry, confectionery and baking production.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
