Channel Manager: Sales & Service (FAIS)

About the role

Absa is looking for a Channel Manager: Sales & Service (FAIS) in George to provide strategic and operational leadership to a large or complex branch (or multiple service points). The role delivers sustainable growth, transformation objectives, strong governance and exceptional customer outcomes in line with the bank's strategy, while managing cash, devices, audits and compliance, leading sales, service and digital adoption, representing the bank in the community and developing future leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead nodal operations with accountability for people, process and performance
• Drive commercial growth and service excellence across multiple service points
• Oversee DHA and MVNO functions, ensuring efficient verification and ID smart card issuing
• Strengthen compliance and operational integrity in civic services
• Expand market presence through oversight of RIB and external sales
• Build resilient, high-performing teams and ensure all performance targets are met
• Accountability for full branch P&L (where applicable), growth, profitability and productivity targets
• Lead senior branch leadership and management teams, build a leadership pipeline and succession plans, and foster ethical leadership
• Own branch risk, conduct and regulatory compliance, manage audits, governance forums and material risk events, and ensure strong controls and TCF adherence
• Engage key clients, community structures and external partners, and act as a brand ambassador
• Deliver an exceptional in-branch customer experience and promote efficient service and alternative banking channels

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Banking
• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Business Administration
