Cellar Operator I

About the role

The Cellar Operator I is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of cellar equipment and processes, ensuring product quality and compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role involves hands‑on work in a fast‑paced environment, supporting blending operations and sample analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor cellar equipment and processes, including blending operations.
• Carry out sample taking, testing and analysis in line with quality standards.
• Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained according to SOPs.
• Report any deviations, faults or risks promptly to the relevant personnel.
• Prepare, start and operate machinery safely.
• Participate actively in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in a cellar environment.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Good communication, teamwork and attention to detail.
• Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Safety and quality consciousness.
• Ability to work under pressure and be an energetic team player.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of process control.
• Knowledge of quality standards.
