Casual Catering Driver – 6 Positions

About the role

Icebolethu Group is seeking six casual catering drivers to support its Catering Division across KwaZulu‑Natal. The role involves transporting staff, equipment and supplies to funeral and related events, ensuring respectful and timely service for grieving families.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and deliver staff and equipment safely to and from event sites.
• Arrive ahead of schedule to guarantee smooth operations.
• Interact with bereaved families with empathy and professionalism.
• Provide accurate information and address client inquiries.
• Maintain road safety by adhering to traffic laws.
• Keep vehicles clean, fuelled and mechanically sound, checking tyres, fluids and lights.
• Assist with unloading and storing equipment after events.
• Report any vehicle issues promptly.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s licence and Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum two years driving experience, including trailer towing of approximately 2.5 m width.
• Familiarity with local roads in Empangeni, Estcourt, Hammarsdale, Kokstad, Pongola and Umlazi.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items and reliable personal transport.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Proficient trailer‑towing techniques.
• Competent use of GPS navigation systems.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and communication.
