Casual Cashier – Nelspruit

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking casual cashiers for its Nelspruit store. The role supports customer service at the point of sale and ensures a world‑class shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process all purchases, including cash, card, vouchers and coupons, while handling loyalty cards and partner programmes.
• Maintain cash drawer accuracy, perform line voids and price changes only with supervisor approval, and secure cash in the drop safe.
• Exchange merchandise, manage authorised returns and report customer complaints or compliments to store management.
• Adhere to Dis‑Chem security, fraud‑prevention policies and ensure all outgoing stock is scanned and paid for.
• Stay informed about current sales, promotions and communicate them to customers.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Minimum 6 months experience in cashier or till operations.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong command of English, both written and oral.
• Willingness to work retail hours and reliable transport or proximity to the store.
• South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.

Required skills

• Operation of cash registers and cash drawers.
• Use of MS Office applications for basic reporting.
• Processing sales, refunds and multiple payment methods.
