About the role
Dis-Chem is looking for a permanent cashier for its Hemmingways store in East London. This is an entry-level retail position supporting the checkout operation while keeping accuracy, customer-service standards and fraud-prevention controls in place. Retail hours are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Scan merchandise and process payments accurately
- Handle loyalty-card transactions
- Keep cash secure and follow cash-control procedures
- Process approved returns and authorised price changes
- Report suspicious behaviour and comply with store security policies
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12)
- At least six months of cashier or till-operation experience
- Sound numeracy, strong English and customer-service skills
- South African citizenship and clear credit and criminal records
Required skills
- Computer literacy, including MS Office
- Cash handling and till operations
