Cashier – Chatsworth

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for an experienced cashier to join the Chatsworth store. You will support customer service at the point of sale, ensure accurate transaction recording and help deliver a world‑class shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process all purchases, handle cash, cards, vouchers and loyalty programmes.
• Maintain cash flow, perform line voids and price changes with supervisor approval.
• Exchange merchandise, accept authorised returns and manage stock scanning.
• Report customer complaints, compliments and any suspicious behaviour to management.
• Adhere to Dis‑Chem security, SOPs and 5‑star communication principles.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Minimum 6 months experience in cashier/till operations.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong command of English (written and oral) and basic customer‑service skills.
• Willingness to work retail hours and reliable transport or proximity to the store.
• South African citizenship with clear credit and criminal records.

Required skills

• Operating cash registers and maintaining cash drawers.
• Processing sales, refunds and various payment methods.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
