Cashbook Clerk

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Cashbook Clerk to join the Administration/Finance team of a motor dealership. The role involves managing the daily cashbook, petty cash and banking activities across multiple vehicle brands, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily cashbook duties for various vehicle brands.
• Capture and reconcile daily banking transactions.
• Manage and maintain daily petty cash.
• Carry out daily banking and related administrative duties.
• Assist with debtors and creditors functions when required.
• Reconcile cashbooks and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records and filing.
• Support general Finance Department administration and meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Matric certificate with tertiary education in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a motor‑industry Finance Department.
• Motor dealership experience and Evolve system experience are essential.
• Previous experience with cashbooks, banking, debtors and creditors.
• Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
• Strong numerical, administrative and organisational abilities.
