Cash & Clearing Team Lead

About the role

Citi's Payments Operations Team in Johannesburg is looking for a Cash & Clearing Team Lead, an intermediate-level role within the Payment Operations Team covering domestic and cross-border flows end to end. The role ensures payments are processed accurately and on time in coordination with the Transaction Services team, meeting client SLAs for payment processing and query resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of multiple teams so performance and quality expectations are met
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define workflow standards
• Monitor and research errors to ensure adherence to audit and control policies
• Resolve transaction services issues and carry out complex analysis using technical expertise
• Respond to requests for transaction deliverables from internal and external clients and vendors
• Develop and recommend strategic decisions based on how the Cash & Clearing team works with other business units
• Provide informal guidance or on-the-job training to new team members
• Manage team administration such as leave schedules and mandatory training
• Assess risk in business decisions, uphold compliance with laws and regulations, and escalate and report control issues

Required profile

• 2-5 years of experience in a related role within cash and clearing operations management
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in a process-driven, high-volume environment and ability to multi-task

Required skills

• Good understanding of cash products
• Windows, MS Project and MS Office Suite
• Verbal and written communication, analytical and relationship management skills
