About the role
The Case Manager will coordinate patient case management activities for the Tembisa hospital unit, ensuring compliance with clinical coding standards and funder requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with reception for authorisations and maintain compliance with case management procedures.
- Plan, coordinate and execute clinical coding in line with CHG standards.
- Provide accurate diagnostic and procedural coding for all patient records.
- Communicate with funders (Medical Aids, COID, Government, RAF, DOL, etc.) to update length of stay, level of care, and other clinical information.
- Consult daily with health‑care providers regarding patient treatment and maintain clinical status for reimbursement.
- Ensure timely finalisation of cases and minimise financial risk.
Required profile
- Relevant nursing qualification (registered nurse).
- 3‑5 years experience as a hospital case manager.
Required skills
- ICD coding.
- Clinical coding according to CHG standards.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- IDC and CPO coding certification.
