Care Worker - Orthopaedic

About the role
Mediclinic is seeking a Care Worker specialised in orthopaedic care to support the nursing unit in delivering safe, high‑quality patient care. The role involves working closely with nursing staff to ensure a positive experience for patients within a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff in delivering quality patient care using a team‑based approach.
- Identify and report risks in accordance with hospital policies.
- Provide administrative support to the nursing unit as required.
- Ensure efficient utilisation and accurate charging of required stock.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience and a learning environment.
Required profile
- Appropriate qualification as a Care Worker (essential).
- Grade 12 (desired).
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment.
Required skills
- Understanding of stock control principles.
- Ability to report and document events and tasks.
- Knowledge of medico‑legal risks and administrative procedures.
- Awareness of patient experience and care principles.
- Application of infection prevention and control measures.
