Business Process Specialist – Marketplace

About the role

Takealot.com is seeking a Business Process Specialist for its Marketplace operations. Based at the Cape Town head office, you will evaluate and redesign core processes to drive efficiency, reduce risk and support the company’s rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and integrate Marketplace processes, collaborating with department heads and the development team.
• Conduct routine audits, root‑cause analyses and KPI improvement initiatives.
• Perform data analysis to identify storage, material handling and process conformance opportunities.
• Design and recommend process flows, risk and productivity gap analyses.
• Develop and maintain work standards, 5S initiatives and forecasting models for packaging, consumables, assets and labour.
• Support continuous‑improvement projects using lean principles and experimental design (e.g., Six Sigma).
• Assist in facility design requirements and build tools to aid daily operations.

Required profile

• Industrial Engineering, B.Comm Logistics or a related degree (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years experience in supply chain, logistics or process improvement.
• Experience with WMS platforms such as Logfire, Manhattan, Red Prairie, SAP or Highjump.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Forms.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and systems‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
