Business Manager (Sandton)

About the role

Capitec Bank is looking for an energetic, self-motivated Business Manager in Sandton to run a proactive business banking sales and service function that retains and grows a portfolio of business clients. The role involves frequent client visits at business premises.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement value-adding, specialised business banking financial product solutions from standard and customised offerings.
• Manage a complex portfolio of business customers with a focus on service and financial analysis.
• Prepare and motivate credit applications and manage cost control and sales.
• Visit clients at their business premises regularly.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of banking experience, including at least 3 years in business banking, managing a complex business customer portfolio and preparing credit applications.
• Ideal: 1-2 years of managerial leadership and 1-2 years managing a small business centre.
• Clear criminal and credit record, willingness to work flexible hours including Saturdays and public holidays, and willingness to travel nationally regularly.
• A valid driver's licence and own vehicle are required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of business economics, CRM principles, local market sales practices and general banking procedures.
• Understanding of FAIS and FICA, competitor products and channels, and legal entity types in the commercial market.
• Technical skills: MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
• Soft skills: analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, attention to detail, communication, negotiation and strategic thinking.
