Business Development Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Specialist to lead growth initiatives for our Funeral Services department. You will identify new markets, evaluate acquisitions, and expand our branch footprint while working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess strategic acquisition opportunities, including funeral homes, land and cremation facilities.
• Conduct market research and feasibility studies to evaluate new locations and commercial viability.
• Develop business cases, financial models and investment proposals, performing ROI and profitability calculations.
• Coordinate due‑diligence processes with Finance, Legal, Compliance and Operations.
• Lead land and branch expansion projects from assessment through implementation.
• Engage with external stakeholders such as corporate clients, government bodies, municipalities, unions and community organisations to secure contracts.

Required profile

• Commercially driven professional with a strategic and results‑focused mindset.
• Proven ability to identify growth opportunities and translate them into actionable plans.
• Strong stakeholder management and project leadership experience, especially in regulated environments.
• Excellent analytical skills for market research and financial evaluation.
