Business Development Manager – Ultrasound AI for Emerging Markets

About the role
The Business Development Manager for Ventures will lead the commercial expansion of innovative ultrasound and AI solutions aimed at low‑ and middle‑income countries. This role bridges clinical, R&D, marketing, finance and regional teams to create sustainable, scalable business models for underserved markets.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the business strategy for new ultrasound‑based AI products within the Ventures organization.
- Design and implement innovative business models tailored to emerging markets, ensuring financial sustainability and customer adoption.
- Identify, qualify and close global and regional revenue opportunities, driving new streams of income.
- Serve as the primary interface for the Gates Foundation program and other collaborations, managing milestones and deliverables.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal partners (R&D, Clinical, Marketing, Finance, Regional Teams) and external stakeholders (NGOs, Ministries of Health, global health partners).
- Lead negotiation, structuring and delivery of strategic deals, especially those requiring novel commercial or risk‑sharing models.
- Track performance metrics such as revenue, margin, adoption rates and partner engagement, reporting regularly to leadership and funders.
- Represent the company at industry events and act as an ambassador for access‑to‑care initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales Management, Economics or related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Global Health or related discipline (preferred).
- 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s (or 7+ years with a Master’s) in Business Development, Sales, Global Health, Emerging Markets, Business Planning or Corporate Strategy.
- Experience in medical devices, ultrasound, digital health or AI‑driven solutions.
- Proven track record leading multimillion‑dollar partnerships, global health programs or donor‑funded initiatives.
- Strong understanding of LMIC healthcare ecosystems and non‑traditional commercial approaches.
