Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will be based in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area and will drive growth for Wings by identifying new corporate travel opportunities and building lasting client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target sectors.
• Manage the sales pipeline from prospecting to contract closure.
• Develop and nurture relationships with corporate clients, especially in engineering, professional services and mining.
• Qualify leads, prepare proposals and presentations, and negotiate contracts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design customised travel management solutions.
• Analyse market trends, track performance metrics and contribute to strategic growth plans.
• Represent Wings at client meetings, industry events and networking functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or sales within corporate travel or a related services industry.
• Strong relationship‑building, stakeholder management and client communication abilities.
• Ability to conduct market research, analyse data and spot commercial opportunities.
• Experience preparing proposals, delivering presentations and negotiating contracts.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Commerce or a related field (preferred).

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Experience using sales reporting tools.
