Business Development Consultant

About the role

Triton Supply Chain Solutions, a division of the Triton Express Group, delivers integrated logistics and warehousing solutions across Southern Africa, specialising in high-volume warehousing, inventory management and tailored supply chain services. It is recruiting a Business Development Consultant in Edenvale to build and sell its service offering.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a structured, measurable and qualified pipeline of new opportunities, prospecting across warehousing, 3PL, distribution and broader supply chain environments
• Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, digital outreach, tender identification, industry connections and site visits
• Differentiate Triton from ordinary warehousing providers through value-added, improvement-led solution selling
• Qualify opportunities by strategic fit, feasibility, profitability and revenue potential, using discovery discussions, operational walk-throughs and requirement gathering
• Document customer requirements, assumptions and exclusions, and work with internal specialists on proposals, presentations and pricing schedules
• Negotiate within approved authority levels, protect margin quality and close new business with a clean handover to internal teams
• Build trust-based relationships, represent Triton professionally and give regular updates on activity, forecast, conversion, pipeline and risk
• Support post-sale engagement and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 and a relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, Marketing, Commerce or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of external sales, business development or solution-selling experience
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transportation

Required skills

• Practical understanding of warehouse operations and WMS/WCS-linked environments
• Experience with proposals, quotations, presentations, negotiations and customer engagement
