Business Development Consultant – Asset Finance

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑driven Business Development Consultant specialising in asset‑finance solutions. The role will focus on identifying, structuring and closing financing opportunities for South African businesses that require equipment or asset‑backed funding.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities and maintain a robust pipeline of commercial clients.
• Meet with business owners and decision‑makers to assess their funding needs.
• Structure, present and negotiate tailored asset‑backed and equipment financing solutions.
• Assist clients throughout the finance application and approval process.
• Build long‑term relationships with clients, suppliers and referral partners.
• Collaborate with credit and operations teams to ensure smooth deal execution.
• Consistently achieve sales and revenue targets while delivering high‑quality client service.

Required profile

• Proven sales experience in commercial finance, asset finance, equipment finance, business lending or capital solutions.
• Strong understanding of commercial lending and asset‑backed finance.
• Ability to generate new business and manage the full sales cycle.
• Excellent relationship‑building, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Professional, consultative approach with strong commercial acumen.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle.
• Self‑motivated, resilient, target‑driven and comfortable engaging with senior business owners.
