Business Developer / Key Account Manager – Platinum Mining

About the role

The position is focused on driving sales and market share for the Platinum Mining segment of an international manufacturer of power tools and technologies. You will own the assigned territory, develop profitable relationships, and act as the primary point of contact for mining and construction customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across mining sites, processing plants, and construction projects within the territory.
• Build and maintain relationships with partners, contractors, system integrators and end‑users, ensuring effective product introduction and adoption.
• Gather market intelligence on competition, pricing, product launches and customer needs, and report findings monthly.
• Develop and execute master marketing plans to increase market share and support the sales team in achieving targets.
• Provide product demonstrations, training and testing as required, and act as a conduit for feedback to product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (post‑graduate qualification such as an MBA is a plus).
• 3–5 years of experience in a mining or construction‑related sales role.
• Proven ability to work with large sales teams and influence senior management (Owner, GM, CEO, HODs).
• Strong analytical skills with experience in customer data analysis and strategic sales planning.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans, both written and spoken.
