Business Centre Manager (Pietermaritzburg)

About the role

Capitec is looking for an energetic, self-motivated person to manage its Business Centre in Pietermaritzburg. The purpose is to drive a proactive sales and service culture that retains and grows the client base, and to plan and implement marketing, sales and support services strategies for the centre.

Required profile

• Minimum: a tertiary qualification in Business Management, Finance or similar; ideal: a Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Finance.
• At least 5 years of banking experience, of which 3 years in business banking, and 3 years of managerial experience.
• Ideal: 4+ years directly selling business banking products and 3+ years leading a team of 10 to 15 people in a business banking environment.
• Significant experience preparing and motivating credit applications, and accountability for managing a profitable cost centre.
• Clear criminal and credit record, a valid driver's licence and own vehicle, and willingness to travel nationally when required.

Required skills

• Budgeting, forecasting, cost control and sales management; financial modelling, activity-based costing and financial analysis.
• Business banking product knowledge, pricing and taxation, and credit principles and practices.
• Knowledge of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA).
• Analytical, planning, organisational, communication, negotiation and management skills.
