Business Banker – Business Banking Sales and Service

About the role

Capitec is looking for an energetic, self-motivated person to join its business centre-based Business Banking sales and service function in Pietermaritzburg. The role retains and grows a portfolio of business clients by identifying and implementing value-added, specialised financial products from standard and customised offerings.

Required profile

• Diploma in Commerce or Finance (minimum)
• At least 3 years of banking experience
• Experience managing a portfolio of business customers with a service and financial analysis focus
• Experience preparing and motivating credit applications
• Ideal: FAIS-accredited Key Individual approved by the FSCA, and 1+ year in business banking preparing and motivating credit applications
• Clear criminal and credit record
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and public holidays

Required skills

• Customer relationship management (CRM) principles and techniques
• Reading financial statements, balance sheets and basic financial ratios
• Knowledge of standard business banking transactional products and competitors' offerings
• Understanding of collateral, multiple legal entities and the Companies and Intellectual Property Registration Act (CPIC)
• Knowledge of FAIS, FICA and banking regulations
• Analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and commercial thinking skills
• Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
• Communication, negotiation and influencing skills
