Broker Consultant – Business Development

About the role

The Broker Consultant will build and grow strategic relationships with brokers and intermediaries to generate new business and support client retention for My Brand Group. This performance‑driven position offers commission based on achieving sales and business development targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities through brokers, intermediaries and insurers.
• Execute broker engagement, retention and growth initiatives, including regular meetings and presentations.
• Promote the company’s solutions, services and value proposition to broker and insurer portfolios.
• Prepare and coordinate proposals and business submissions within agreed timelines.
• Monitor market trends, broker performance and portfolio metrics to identify opportunities and risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and resolve issues.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 (NQF level 4) with a preferred degree in Business Management or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in broker consulting, business development or relationship management within the insurance industry, with a proven sales track record.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (intermediate), including Pivot Tables, V‑LOOKUP, data filtering and basic formulas.
• Microsoft PowerPoint for creating professional presentations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using CRM systems (preferred).
