Branch Manager (Howick)

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a Branch Manager for its Howick office. The role manages a small to medium-sized team of advisors and develops and maintains relationships with prospective and existing clients to stimulate demand for financial products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate the local action plan, link it to the function's strategy and the organisation's mission and vision, and motivate the team to achieve local business goals.
• Develop and run a relationship management plan for existing accounts, collect customer feedback and summarise it with recommendations for change.
• Sell complex standard products and services, presenting them with a clear rationale and standard commercial terms, and refer to senior colleagues for concessions.
• Identify potential customers through referrals, existing customers and trade shows and conferences.
• Monitor personal or team performance, allocate work, review completion and take corrective action, and contribute to formal appraisals.
• Provide operational support and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of a transactional operations area.
• Help build strong external customer relationships and deliver specialised support for key accounts, including responding to complex inquiries.
• Develop a customer contact plan for product launches and sales campaigns, and act as first point of contact for customer queries and complaints.
• Track budgets and report variances to senior colleagues.
• Coach team members to develop their skills.

Required profile

• Diploma (Dipl.)
• Ability to build networks, collaborate, communicate effectively, show self-awareness and drive results.
