Branch Manager (Channel Manager: Sales & Service)

About the role

Absa is seeking an experienced Channel Manager: Sales and Service to lead a customer-facing sales and service operation across a complex branch and several service points in a strategically important market. The role drives business growth, operational excellence and client-centric outcomes, develops future leaders and advances the bank's transformation agenda. It is open to suitably qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing sales and service team
• Drive sales, retention, service and profitability objectives
• Create a culture of accountability, customer excellence and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with FAIS, regulatory and governance requirements
• Develop and execute local market growth and client acquisition strategies
• Analyse performance trends and implement improvements
• Build strong relationships with clients, business partners and stakeholders
• Foster employee engagement and talent development
• Manage operational risk while ensuring efficient branch and service delivery

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and/or advanced diploma in Business, Commerce, Finance or equivalent NQF level 7 or higher
• FAIS-compliant with relevant regulatory requirements
• RE5 qualification (where applicable)
• Proven leadership experience in financial services, sales, banking, insurance or a related industry
• Demonstrated success leading teams to meet sales and customer service targets
