Branch Consultant / In‑house Advisor (Mthatha)

About the role

The Branch Consultant / In‑house Advisor will work from our Mthatha branch to promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) financial products. You will provide sound financial advice, deliver high‑level client service and help grow market share through cross‑selling and client optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Gain and maintain in‑depth knowledge of SRM product ranges and keep customers informed of new or changed products.
• Assess customers’ financial goals and recommend appropriate products, submitting new business through the correct channels.
• Validate client details in line with product and regulatory requirements and conduct due‑diligence to flag risks.
• Prioritise daily appointments while also serving walk‑in clients, managing client portfolios and sending payment reminders.
• Monitor and improve persistency of client payments, manage NTUs and take corrective actions where needed.
• Provide policy‑cancellation guidance, propose alternative payment arrangements and resolve client queries or escalate them appropriately.
• Maintain compliance with quality and regulatory standards and stay up‑to‑date with product changes.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑focused attitude with the ability to deliver professional financial advice.
• Excellent understanding of insurance and savings products and regulatory requirements.
• Good organisational skills to manage appointments, walk‑ins and follow‑ups efficiently.
• Ability to conduct due‑diligence, identify risks and maintain accurate client records.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction, escalation and follow‑up.
• Commitment to continuous learning and compliance with quality standards.
