Bookkeeper – Accounting Practice

About the role

Join a well‑established accounting practice in Johannesburg South as a Bookkeeper. You will manage the day‑to‑day financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with South African tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain monthly cashbooks for multiple clients.
• Perform full bookkeeping functions up to trial balance.
• Prepare and submit various tax returns, including VAT and PAYE.
• Liaise with clients on bookkeeping and tax queries.
• Ensure compliance with SARS and other statutory requirements.
• Assist with CIPC‑related administration as needed.
• Support the finance team with general accounting and administrative duties.

Required profile

• Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification (advantageous).
• Previous bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accounting practice.
• Strong attention to detail and client‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Pastel accounting software.
• Familiarity with SARS filing requirements.
