Bartender / Barista

About the role

CampusKey is looking for a Bartender/Barista for its Stellenbosch location. The role suits someone with talent, a sense of humour and a sparkling personality who can work shifts, weekends and public holidays and start as soon as possible. The salary is market-related and negotiable.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee beverages such as espresso, cappuccino, latte and speciality drinks, keeping quality and presentation consistent.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and standards.
• Take orders accurately, explain menu items and recommend drinks based on customer preferences.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and a welcoming atmosphere.
• Operate espresso machines, coffee brewing equipment and other beverage tools proficiently.
• Keep the bar, coffee station, equipment and seating areas clean and organised.
• Monitor stock levels, replenish supplies and help with inventory management.
• Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately.
• Follow health and safety procedures and responsible alcohol service requirements.
• Work with team members to keep daily operations smooth, assist with events and promotions, and expand knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, beverages and mixology.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a barista, bartender or in a similar role is preferred.
• Good knowledge of coffee preparation, beverages and mixology techniques.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual and with a strong work ethic.
• Legal age to serve alcohol and availability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
