Barista – Specialty Hot Drinks

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Barista specializing in specialty hot drinks to join our hospitality team. You will craft high‑quality coffee, tea, and other crafted beverages while delivering an exceptional guest experience in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve specialty coffee and espresso‑based drinks following established recipes and presentation standards.
• Create signature hot beverages, seasonal drinks, and latte art as required.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other beverage equipment.
• Prepare specialty teas, hot chocolate, chai, matcha, and other non‑coffee drinks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked barista station throughout service.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, including equipment cleaning and calibration.
• Monitor inventory of coffee, milk, syrups, garnishes, and supplies, communicating replenishment needs.
• Minimise waste while ensuring consistency, quality, and speed during busy periods.
• Collaborate with service and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in developing and testing new specialty beverages and seasonal menus.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Barista in a specialty coffee shop, premium restaurant, hotel, café, or high‑end hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of specialty coffee preparation, espresso extraction, and milk texturing.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a high‑volume environment.
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, and high level of personal hygiene.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of professional espresso machines and grinders.
• Milk steaming, texturing, and latte art creation.
• Preparation of espresso‑based drinks, specialty teas, hot chocolate, chai, and matcha.
• Inventory management and equipment cleaning procedures.
• Understanding of coffee bean varieties, roast profiles, and basic brewing principles.
