Backend Engineer (Python/Django) – Cape Town

About the role

FIXR is looking for a Backend Engineer to join its Cape Town team. You will help build and evolve the core ticketing and event intelligence platform, working closely with product, design and other engineering teams across the globe.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship new features on the existing platform.
• Improve core systems for performance, simplicity and faster development cycles.
• Participate in technical design and architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to scope work and define pragmatic solutions.
• Provide input on planning, trade‑offs and timelines.
• Maintain high code quality through reviews and shared ownership.

Required profile

• Practical and adaptable, able to own work from idea through production.
• Comfortable switching contexts and making sensible trade‑offs in a fast‑moving small team.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset without over‑engineering.
