Backend Developer – .NET Core & C#

About the role

WBWR is seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join its growing development team in Somerset West. The role focuses on building scalable backend systems, robust APIs, and handling complex integrations using C# and .NET Core.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications with C# and .NET Core.
• Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Integrate third‑party platforms, ERPs, and external services.
• Develop scalable, maintainable backend architectures.
• Manage database interactions across SQL and NoSQL environments.
• Implement background jobs, queues, and automated processes.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.

Required profile

• 3+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Solid experience with C# and .NET Core.
• Good understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous programming.
• Experience designing and consuming external APIs.
• Knowledge of software architecture principles such as Clean Architecture and SOLID.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
