Audit Accountant (Semi‑Senior / Senior)

About the role

We are seeking an Audit Accountant (Semi‑Senior / Senior) to join our team in Roodepoort, delivering remote audit services for a UK‑based practice. The role involves leading audit engagements, supervising junior staff, and ensuring high‑quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audits and support audit teams, liaising with managers and partners.
• Prepare audit files, conduct audit planning and execute fieldwork.
• Allocate work and supervise junior team members, providing training and reviewing their work.
• Ensure audit assignments are completed to high standards, on time and within budget.
• Review and finalise limited company accounts, checking disclosures.
• Attend training courses or study towards a CA qualification as required.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years audit practice experience, with some accounts experience.
• Currently studying towards a CA qualification (ACCA/ACA/CA(SA)) or at least one year post‑training contract experience.
• University degree preferred.
• Fully fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time‑keeping skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and lead junior staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero, Sage, Caseware and CCH.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new IT packages.
