Assistant Student Accommodation Manager

About the role

The Assistant Student Accommodation Manager will support the daily operations of a student residence in Bellville, Cape Town. This role involves handling student queries, managing leasing processes, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily management and operations of the student residence.
• Manage student queries, applications, intake, vacating and general liaison.
• Support leasing, renewals, documentation and vacancy management.
• Coordinate inspections, maintenance, repairs, contractors and suppliers.
• Assist with OHS, compliance, risk management and building audits.
• Help with budgeting, financial monitoring and monthly reporting.
• Maintain accurate student records, files, reports and property documentation.
• Support student events, mentoring and residence programmes.
• Assist with staff coordination and day‑to‑day operational management.
• Liaise with universities, brokers, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Handle general administration, complaints, audits and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Essential experience in property management and student accommodation.
• Good understanding of property management and student accommodation procedures.
• Knowledge of leasing agreements, budgeting and service contracts.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Good leadership and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail.
