Assistant Store Man

About the role

Mediclinic Midstream in Centurion, South Africa is recruiting one Assistant Store Man for a permanent, on-site position. The role supports the efficient operation of the stores by receiving, checking, storing, issuing and recording stock accurately, keeping the storage environment organised and secure, and helping with stocktaking, document control and internal deliveries so departments receive the right supplies on time.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving and checking incoming stock
• Issuing and distributing stock
• Storing, organising and securing stock
• Supporting stock accuracy and stocktaking
• Handling documentation, filing and archiving
• Providing customer service, safety and quality support

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
• Previous experience receiving, checking, storing, picking or issuing stock in a stores, warehouse or similar environment
• Desired: certificate or short course in stores management, stock control, warehousing or logistics, and 1-2 years' experience in a stores or stock control environment

Required skills

• Basic stock receiving, storage, issuing and distribution procedures
• Reading delivery notes, requisitions and purchase orders
• Stock rotation principles such as FIFO and FEFO
• Stocktaking procedures and accurate stock records
• Safe storage, manual handling, housekeeping and store security
• Reporting damaged, missing, excess or obsolete stock
• Filing, archiving, confidentiality and authorised disposal of documents
• Infection prevention practices relevant to healthcare stores
• Electronic inventory systems and barcode processes
