Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

A prestigious luxury hospitality establishment in George is looking for a passionate Assistant Restaurant Manager to support its Food & Beverage team. The role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring smooth daily restaurant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding guest service and maximise customer satisfaction.
• Assist in driving restaurant sales and revenue growth.
• Supervise and manage both casual and permanent restaurant staff.
• Support opening and closing procedures for the restaurant and storerooms.
• Participate in stocktaking of equipment and food & beverage inventory.
• Ensure accurate billing and charging in line with function sheets.
• Maintain high operational and service standards at all times.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience in a 4‑star or 5‑star hospitality environment.
• Strong guest relations and communication abilities.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Own accommodation within George or surrounding areas.
• Well‑presented, energetic and guest‑centric attitude.
• Willingness to support the Restaurant Manager with daily operational needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience using the Micros POS system.
