Assistant Project Engineer – Wastewater

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Project Engineer to support the technical delivery of wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK and international markets. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the design, construction and supervision of sustainable water solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support engineering design from concept through detailed design, construction and site supervision.
• Take direction from Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers while providing day‑to‑day technical guidance to junior team members.
• Manage day‑to‑day delivery of assigned work packages, ensuring safety, schedule and budget compliance.
• Own technical aspects of projects and keep senior staff and stakeholders informed of progress, risks and issues.
• Prepare technical deliverables such as engineering reports, calculations, designs, drawings and specifications.
• Communicate project progress internally and with clients as required.
• Contribute to solving technical challenges using sound engineering judgement.
• Undertake additional duties to support project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in wastewater engineering, including feasibility studies, detailed design, procurement and construction contract administration.
• Experience supporting consultancy services and basic project‑management activities is desirable.
• Highly motivated with a strong desire to develop professionally within a consultancy environment.
