Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

Radisson Hotel Group, one of the world's largest hotel groups, is hiring an Assistant Financial Controller in Kempton Park. The role oversees the accounting and financial control functions of the hotel, including receivables, payables, cash book, VAT and PAYE returns, and manages the team reporting to it.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable clerks, including debtors and creditors age analysis, the disbursement cycle and the cashbook reconciliations
• Reconcile cash, credit card and forex banking, and handle outstanding PM accounts, commission claims and the procurement and inventory cycles
• Oversee monthly VAT and PAYE returns and ensure they are processed correctly on SARS, and reconcile the asset register
• Process journal entries, prepare management account reports and send departmental GLs by month-end
• Manage the team: performance reviews, feedback, training, leave and time sheets, and ensure staff follow SOPs and ICQ requirements
• Control BBBEE and external auditor requirements, and help maintain policies and procedures in line with internal control assessments
• Follow up ad hoc reports requested by the Financial Controller and the General Manager, and monitor service quality and teamwork

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Finance
• Knowledge of hotel fire, bomb and emergency procedures, health and safety policies, and hotel operating standards
• Ability to follow reasonable instructions from the General Manager or Executive Team and to accept flexible work schedules
