Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

Join Mama Shelter’s pre‑opening team in Cape Town as an Assistant Financial Controller. You will support the Financial Controller in establishing robust finance processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining strong financial controls as the hotel prepares to open.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily accounting activities including reconciliations, journal entries, income control, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month‑end close.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, balance‑sheet reconciliations, profit & loss reviews, and related documentation.
• Provide finance set‑up support during the pre‑opening phase, including systems implementation and alignment with Mama and Ennismore standards.
• Monitor revenues, expenses, and transactions, identify discrepancies and support corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operational teams, finance leadership, and Ennismore support functions to ensure timely reporting and clear financial communication.
• Assist with cash management, payment processing, banking activities, and receivable follow‑up.
