Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to support our Finance Manager in delivering accurate financial reporting and driving finance transformation. This full‑time role is based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town and offers the chance to develop your career within a respected organisation committed to empowerment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Finance Manager with month‑end and year‑end reporting cycles.
• Prepare management accounts, balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial reports in line with IFRS.
• Maintain the general ledger, fixed‑asset register and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements and support external audits.
• Oversee inventory, inter‑company reconciliations and working‑capital reporting.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements, ERP optimisation and finance transformation initiatives.
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights for strategic projects.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualified, preferably newly qualified or with 1‑2 years post‑articles experience.
• 2‑3 years of relevant finance experience.
• Big four articles experience preferred.
• First‑time board pass preferred.

Required skills

• IFRS reporting standards.
• ERP systems.
