Aluminium Welder

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Aluminium Welder to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will fabricate, assemble and repair aluminium components using TIG, MIG and other approved processes while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and welding specifications.
• Prepare aluminium material by measuring, cutting, grinding, cleaning and fitting.
• Perform aluminium welding using TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW) or other approved methods.
• Fabricate and assemble structures such as frames, tanks, pipes and platforms.
• Inspect welds for defects, strength and dimensional accuracy.
• Carry out repairs and modifications to damaged aluminium equipment.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment and other fabrication tools safely.
• Maintain welding equipment through routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Select appropriate consumables, shielding gases and materials for each job.
• Keep the work area clean, organised and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Complete job reports, inspection records and production documentation accurately.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience as an aluminium welder.
• Proven TIG welding experience with aluminium (essential); MIG experience advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills and physical fitness.
• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
