Airport Services Supervisor

About the role

The Airport Services Supervisor will lead the coordination of all ground‑handling activities for Emirates at Cape Town International Airport. Reporting to the Airport Services Manager, you will ensure that operations run safely, efficiently and in line with Emirates’ commercial, safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise internal teams and external agencies such as handling agents, caterers and other service providers.
• Analyse operational disruptions (over‑bookings, weather, delays, crew limitations) and implement proactive measures to minimise impact on passengers.
• Brief handling agents and service providers on daily requirements, special handling instructions and updates.
• Oversee post‑flight activities, including revenue protection, dead‑load handling and baggage claim processing.
• Respond to passenger queries, complaints and claims promptly to restore confidence.
• Perform administrative duties and support the ticket desk when required.
• Coach and develop airport services agents, ensuring they meet service standards.
• Assist in staff performance reviews and objective setting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in airport ground handling or airline operations.
• Strong leadership and coordination abilities.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the capacity to act under pressure.
• Good communication skills for briefing internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
