AI Analyst Programmer

About the role

Private Clients, which manages over R80 billion globally for high-net-worth individuals, families and entrepreneurs, is looking for an early-career Industrial Engineer to apply systems thinking, quantitative modelling and AI to real investment and operating problems. The role sits at the intersection of investments and portfolio management, quantitative modelling, technology and AI, operational optimisation and complex problem-solving, and involves building tools and improving decision quality rather than providing support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications, including fixing complex software defects and contributing to new applications
• Design digital products and services, and recommend technical improvements to websites, portals and applications
• Maintain a software development roadmap, document technical and user material, and test performance and fix faults
• Keep up to date with policies, regulations and security measures, and report patterns of non-compliance
• Analyse "as is" and "to be" processes, and support data collection, research and database tuning
• Support AI integration in investment research, portfolio management and operations, and explore automation
• Support quantitative analysis, data modelling, forecasting and optimisation, including in Bloomberg and related platforms
• Analyse workflows, build dashboards and reporting tools, and support data-driven decisions

Required profile

• NQF 7 qualification; Industrial Engineering graduate preferred
• Strong Python capability and strong quantitative and analytical ability
• Interest in financial markets and wealth management
• Self-starting, comfortable in complex and ambiguous situations, and curious about applying AI and technology to real problems
