Advancing Financial Adviser – Durban Area

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for an Advancing Financial Adviser to serve clients in the Westville, Chesterville, Sherwood and Durban areas. The role focuses on delivering tailored financial advice, growing the long‑term insurance book of business and ensuring compliance with South African regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultative financial advice to individuals and families.
• Promote and sell long‑term insurance products in line with company targets.
• Maintain compliance with FAIS, RE5 and other regulatory requirements.
• Analyse client information to identify needs and appropriate solutions.
• Build and nurture lasting client relationships through proactive follow‑up.
• Achieve sales and business development objectives set by the branch.

Required profile

• Minimum Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
• At least 12 months of experience as a financial adviser in the financial services sector.
• Completion of a Long‑term Insurance Class of Business; additional FAIS qualifications (Investments Class, RE5) are advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Clear criminal and credit record.
• Computer literacy and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, business acumen and resilience.
